Bauer CRC has a passionate desire to make disciples and see people GROW in Christ. We do this by GATHERING in Christ for times of corporate worship, study and fellowship. We GO in Christ by proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed in our community and around the world.
Children & Youth Ministries
Sunday School & Catechism take place on Sundays after the morning worship service from September through May
5 years old – 5th grade During the school year, Sunday School meets immediately after the morning service. Children begin their learning together in the sanctuary where they study the truth about God and how each story in the Bible connects to Christ. They follow-up with small group time to hear more about the Good News of Jesus and review the Bible story with age appropriate activities.
6th Grade students explore the basics of the Christian faith and how it relates to their lives.
7th & 8th Grade students use the Heidelberg Catechism as a tool to understand the Reformed Faith
9th -12th Grade students explore Scripture as they walk through Genesis & Exodus
Children’s Worship is provided for children aged 3 and 4 years old. This meaningful, age appropriate worship is available every Sunday. During Children’s worship, trained leaders teach the truths of the Bible through stories, songs, and sensory play. The children begin the worship service in the sanctuary with their parents and leave midway through the service. Children’s Worship ends at the end of the worship service. They are assisted by helpers and hall monitors who aid them in getting to the correct room.
Kid’s Hope is a mentoring program in the Allendale Elementary School District in which a mentor is paired with an at-risk student for the school year. The mentor meets with their student for one hour, one day a week to help with academics, support their needs, play games, and build friendships. During the program year, we schedule various activities here at Bauer CRC to incorporate teaching about Christ’s love for them into the program.
Our Youth Group (grades 6-12) meets two Sundays a month from 6-8:00 for a time of fellowship, dinner, Bible study, games, special events, speakers and much more. Students are welcome to come as they are and have fun as they grow closer together and to Jesus Christ.
Our Cadet group helps boys in 2nd-8th grade grow spiritually in all areas of life (devotional, mental, physical and social). Cadets meet every other Wednesday night for Bible study and badge work, and take periodic weekend camping trips throughout the school year.
Our GEMS group (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) provides a similar experience for girls in 2nd-7th grade twice a month on Wednesday evenings. The girls share in Bible study, badge work, crafts, and special outings.
